The Electric Tattoo Convention is held every year with over 160 artists from all over the country. I wanted to create a powerful image for the poster to draw the attention of tattoo enthusiasts with varying styles and interests. A panther symbolizes power and fierceness and is also a popular choice to get tattooed. I experimented with different styles to resemble a tattoo with the restrictions of limited color palette and the process of screen printing. Halftones and outlines worked best for this art style. I created custom typography that evoked the art of tattooing.
For the extension pieces, red lanyards with specific badges for artists with their respective tattoo styles help organize the event effectively. Playing cards with the same illustration styles are sold as merchandise.
