The narrator and Tyler Durden are two opposing forces striving for control in the same person. I tried to explore this concept of duality and conflict within oneself through typography. The narrator says 'You met me at a strange time of my life ' to Marla when the financial buildings shatter to the ground in the backdrop. To capture the essence of this scene and the constant struggle with one's duality, I used custom type as shattered glass. The two colors red and blue form the word 'strange' at the focal point where the glass shatters. This further accentuates the struggle between the two forces.
